Games Tester - Rockstar North.

•    Responsible for finding and reporting bugs and verifying fixes.
•    Testing games in various modes at different stages of the  project lifecycle.
•    Testing games on multiple platforms. PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

QA Tester - DS Dambusters (Formally Crytek UK)

​September 2013 - December 2016

Projects - Homefront: The Revolution and Warface 360

Homefront: The Revoultion is an open world FPS released on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2016.  Warface 360 is a Free to Play Co-operative FPS on the Xbox 360.

 

•    Responsible for finding and reporting bugs and verifying fixes.
•    Testing games in various modes (single player, multiplayer) in different stages of the  project lifecycle.
•    Testing games on multiple platforms. PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360.
•      Mentoring new staff in all aspects of the QA Tester role including the principles of testing, use of software and hardware.
•    Creating and following test plans for features or game areas such as Cinematics and Weapon customisation.

•    Supporting the Editor test team with CryEngine feature integration testing, and general engine QA.

 

 

Designer and Producer - Crash Course Studios

August 2012- August 2013

Projects - Super American Football and Escape from Dr Nomerac's Lair.

Super American Football was created for the Samsung Student Developer Challenge 2013 and won second place at the Grand Finals.

 

•    Designed the games mechanics based on market research and the competitions goals of utilisation on the Samsung S-Pen.
•    Managed the team by setting development targets based on the competitions milestones, prioritizing development based on time restrictions.

 

Escape from Dr Nomerac’s Lair was a Second Screen platformer that was created for and competed in Dare to be Digital 2013.

• The design and creation of the games level / assets and iteration based on feedback.

• The creation of 3D assets for the games levels.

• Managing the team based on the time restrictions of the competition, ensuring that core features were prioritized

 

Abertay Univerty Student Projects - Designer / Producer.

September 2010 - July 2012  ​

During university I was involved in two group projects a small flash game and prototype for Sony of a football game for a touch device. In both projects I was elected as team leader.

 

• High concept creation followed by expanding upon these concepts.

• Gameplay design – in both projects I created the concepts of the games mechanics then attempted to ensure that they allowed for a balanced game.

• Level design –The layout of the level, building them in UDK or importing them in Maya and creating the player routes

Worked alongside artists, programmers and audio specialists in small development teams to design and develop computer games. Studied the historical context and fundamentals of game design, interaction and narrative theory. Developed professional skills in level design, concept development, project management and entrepreneurship.
